Hundreds of miles from the Shire, Frodo Baggins stands at the water's edge, staring west. His thoughts turned inward, Frodo does not hear the sound of fighting among the trees on the slopes behind him, where his friends are fighting to buy his escape from the merciless Uruk-hai. Only now, in the heavy silence of this strange place, so far from home, does he understand how truly alone he is.
