Hundreds of miles from the Shire, Frodo Baggins stands by the water's edge, gazing westward. His thoughts turned inward, Frodo does not hear the sound of battle among the trees on the slopes behind him, as his friends struggle to buy his escape from the relentless Uruk-hai. Only now, in the heavy silence of this strange place, so far from home, does he understand how truly alone he is.
