While Fred is constantly looking for ways to get rich, Barney thinks his life is fine just the way it is, but ends up participating in Fred's plans and schemes due to their bond of friendship. Caring and devoted to his wife Betty and a loving father to his adopted son Bamm-Bamm, Barney is often good-natured, though sometimes sarcastic, cracking jokes with his friend and occasionally losing his temper with Fred. Barney likes bowling, snooker, poker, disrupting Fred's garage and mainly playing golf. He is also a member of the Water Buffaloes brotherhood and an operator in the same quarry where Fred works.
